We awoke to more rain at Sun Meadows, had to walk a block to the bathroom, and John had to get our chairs and table in the van - we didn't anticipate rain during the night, it rained continually, everything was soaked!
We left the camp and drove the 30 or 40 miles to Coeur d'Alene. We parked and John walked a bit on the lake shore while I tried to call my niece on the cell phone, we had thought of visiting them before we continued to Pend Orielle. No answer at Katrina's house, we drove to another parking lot and walked a bit in the drizzly rain - drank a cup of cappuccino at a nice coffee house - wandered through one antique store, then decided to drive on to Sandpoint.
Sandpoint was having their "Back to the 50's" weekend, so the town was crowded. We parked away from the downtown and walked to the center, not far since it's a small town. We had lunch at a good restaurant where we bought a pie, then shopped at Safeway for our food for the timeshare. Stopped at Walmart for a map book, then drove to the timeshare in Hope.
We arrived, settled in and rested an hour, then drove back to Sandpoint for the parade of old cars. I had stopped raining for awhile, many people were there for the parade. John took more movies, we both took pictures, then left and returned to the timeshare for supper and bed.

When we got up we discovered it had rained again during the night, John had brought our wet canvas chairs upstairs and placed them on the patio, this AM there were puddles in the seats!
We decided to drive to Sandpoint and have lunch while there. The classic cars were parked on several streets downtown, we walked around for a couple of hours admiring the restorations of the cars, trucks and other unique vehicles.
It still threatened rain, sprinkling off and on while we were in Sandpoint. We went back to Pend Orielle SHores and relaxed, put a nice fire in the fireplace and read until bedtime

We woke to even more wet weather. However, it did begin to break up later in the morning and the weatherman predicted it would be nice for the remainder of our stay. We'll see.
My niece, Katrina and her family came up from Coeur d'Alene to visit us. They have two children, Breanna and Austin. I fixed lunch for all of us and afterwards John took the kids swimming, Katrina, Ed and I went to the pool area but didn't get in. Ed was sorry he didn't have his swim suit when he saw the hot tub!
They stayed until about 4:30, it was a nice visit. John and I lounged around again, read, started another fire in the fireplace, had supper and went to bed.
